scenic drive following the
coastline from DANA
POINT to LONG BEACH, a
drive best attempted on
weekdays between rush
hours. Stop in the popular

For sports fans, the Los Angeles Angels
play at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim and
the Anaheim Ducks hockey team speeds
over the ice at Anaheim’s Honda Center,
which also hosts concerts with the Rolling
Stones, Bruce Springsteen, The Who and
other major acts. More than 40 champi-
onship golf courses and a year-round
temperate climate keep golfers happy.
Hotel and day spas help the OC’s beautiful
people maintain their tanned and buff
bodies, and everywhere you look you’ll see
people jogging, walking, biking and thor-
oughly enjoying their SoCal lifestyle.

TIP
The MISSION SAN JUAN
CAPISTRANO is the city’s cultural
hub, offering more than mission
tours and religious services. The
mission’s lovely courtyard lawns
are transformed into a rockin’
summer concert venue with
performances by cover bands
mimicking famed groups
including the Rolling Stones,
Chicago and the Eagles. The
ANNUAL BATTLE OF THE
MARIACHIS brings in top-notch
bands from throughout
Southern California, and families
gather for campfires, overnight
fun, and a pancake breakfast
during the ADVENTURE
SLEEPOVER in July. Swarms of
swallows are greeted with the
RETURN OF THE SWALLOWS
celebration in March, and the
mission’s historic bells ring out
during CHRISTMAS AT THE
MISSION, the same night as the
city’s tree lighting ceremony.
Check the mission’s website for
special events taking place
during your visit. missionsjc.com
